What is forestry mulching?

Forestry mulching is a land clearing method that uses a single machine to cut, grind, and shred trees, brush, and overgrowth into a fine layer of mulch. This helps prevent erosion, as there is no need to dig up, or disturb the soil.

What is better a drum mulcher or a disc mulcher?

A disc mulcher is an aggressive style of mulcher that is very efficent, but leaves larger mulch behind compared to a drum mulcher. Disc mulchers shine when you need a lot of brush cleared fast.

A drum style mulcher is less efficent compared to disc mulcher, but it leaves a much finer mulch behind. Drum mulchers dont throw debris as far, making them a better choice if work is to be completed around structures. 

How much land can you clear in a day?

This largely depends on the species, and stem count of the overgrown brush. We can clear anywhere from 1-20 acres in a single day with one machine. A property visit is the best way for us to gauge how many acres we can clear in a day.

Do I have to burn the debris, or do you have you haul it off?

Forestry mulching is a one step process. It cuts, grinds, and leaves mulch behind. No hauling, or burning.

What is the best time of year for forestry mulching?

Forestry mulching can take place any time of the year, but late fall/winter is the most ideal.

Do you build food plots for hunting property?

Yes! We can clear an area on your property where you would like a food plot to be. We can also prep the ground & plant food plots.

How can you make my hunting property better?

That depends on your goals. If you are unsure, or just need some insight, we can work with you to help create better habitat, figure out property access routes, or help determine food plot locations.

Do you offer driveway prep and gravel work?

Yes, we can haul in rock & install gravel driveways, lanes, or creek crossings.

Is your stump grinder on your skid steer?

No, we have a dedicated stump grinder so we can operate in residential areas.

How far do you travel for jobs?

While our service area is Northwest Iowa, we do not have a set radius for completing a job. Give us a call and we can discuss your project!
